DIRECTIONS TO THE TRACK: CHECK OUT THE UPDATES BELOW FROM OMAHA OR COUNCIL BLUFFS: Take Interstate 29 south to the Nebraska City exit. This is the intersection with Highway 2. There is construction on this stretch of Highway 2 so have some patience. Go east on Highway 2 until you come to a stop sign. Continue on east on J - 46 through a town called Riverton. Continue east for 6 miles to 390th Avenue. Turn right (south) onto 390th Ave. and go 3 miles south to 280th Street. Turn left (east) onto 280th St. and the track is at the top of the hill about 1/2 mile after turning onto 280th. FROM DES MOINES: Take interstate 80 west to the Avoca, Highway 59 exit. Go south on Highway 59 to Shenandoah. This will take about 1 hour once you get on 59. Proceed south out of Shenandoah on 59 for 7 miles to 280th Street. Turn right (west) onto 280th and go approximately 2 1/2 miles. You will see the supercross track on your left. Turn into the top driveway. Schedule Information: I want to let everyone know that we will try to accommodate your schedule if at all possible. If you need to ride in the morning or on one of our off days, just give me a call in advance and I'll do my best to work it out. Fully prepped practices will have a fee of $15.00 per rider unless you pay the yearly membership. The fee will be for all ages. UPDATES - - - UPDATES - - - UPDATES- - - UPDATES- - - UPDATES - - - UPDATES - - February 26th, 2010: How's everyone doing? No doubt about it.....this weather sucks! The forecasts are starting to give us some hope that we will be getting rid of the snow. Only thing riding the track now is a snowmobile though. I know spring is coming because people are starting to call on track conditions and my thoughts are wandering to improvements I want to get done. I hope the tractor stays in one piece this season!!! May have some heavy equipment lined up to do some bigger projects after planting season. If discussions turn into actions, have some people willing to invest some time and machinery into some cool work. Keep a positive attitude about things. The weather will cooperate soon. And believe me, we will be open just as soon as possible. Everyone take care and thanks for reading. November 24th, 2009: We will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday the 27th, 28th, and 29th of November for practice. We got a good rain Tuesday and the track is drying out nicely and should be good to go. Come on out for what may be the last good weekend we have. Friday and Saturday look to be the best days according to the forecast. September 19th, 2009: Prep went pretty good today. The track worked up great. Got quite a bit of water on it before I tore up one of my water rigs. Still have the fire truck going and will be putting more water down in the morning. Practice will not start until NOON. To give everyone a heads up, If we get enough water down, I'm going to call this a full prep as I have put a lot more time into this than anticipated. That of course means the daily fee will be $15.00. Also, I want to thank Riley Christie and friends for helping tonight. It helped really speed things up. Thanks guys. September 18th, 2009: I am planning on working and watering the track as much as possible on Saturday the 19th to have a semi-prepped practice on Sunday the 20th. In saying that, I will have the track closed on Saturday the 19th. Tell everyone you know that we are having semi-prepped practice on the 20th. Thanks, Doug August 13th, 2009: Hi everyone! Well I'm back from vacation and playing catch up. Pete Doyle came by today with his big scraper and did some lane work on the track. He reshaped some of the corners and straights. It really made a difference and is very much appreciated. Gets me thinking that I can bring in a road grader and really improve some areas. I'll try and do that either this fall or next spring as cash flow allows. Track is in pretty good shape. I just need to get the shredder fixed and get the grass and weeds mowed. Sorry for the ugly appearance. Been pretty busy with pig business and haven't had a lot of time to work on things. Thank you for your patience. July 27th, 2009: Hello again. I got the "big" table top after the whoops redone yesterday. It is now around 70 to 75 feet long. Today I shredded off the bottom track. (Can't do the top track because I fried my slip clutch on the shredder!) I also worked up the bottom track and got it rolled before the rain showers started. It is in great shape. Tonight I disked up the top track but didn't roll it since the ground was somewhat wet. The roller just fills up with dirt if the ground is too tacky. Any way, I hope we get the forecasted rain. If we do, the tracks should be awesome! I'll keep you posted as to conditions. July 23rd, 2009: Hi everyone! I rebuilt the table top that I call the finish line jump tonight. It measures 65 feet now. I may add some more to it but I want to see how different skill levels handle it and if it works for the smaller bikes. I will try to rebuild and add to the table top after the whoops tomorrow night. Finally starting to get some work done. In another note, I have been asked if Razor's Edge would like to hold a race or two in conjunction with White Sands Raceway at Ashland, NE. What do you think? I am interested in your opinions and would be glad to see e-mails or have some phone calls on the matter. Thanks! June 6th, 2009: Sorry its been a while since I've updated things. Finally got the tractor back and it seems to be fixed this time. Was away on business last week so things have just been pretty busy. I did manage to dress up the new rhythm section and rebuild the double in the triple last night before the rain. We got quite a bit but the neighbor was riding this evening. Have a few small lakes but can still get around the track. I will have to do some more drainage ditch work when things dry out. If it doesn't rain tonight, we will be open tomorrow. Please do call first though. If it doesn't get to wet, I'm am going to start redoing the table tops (make them a little longer and dress up the landers). May 12th, 2009: The Manga MX school www.mangaracingschools.com was a great success! Alex has a special gift for teaching. There was so much information passed on in the school that riders of all ages would benefit from. I want to give a special "Thank You" out to the Urek's, Nate and Barbara. They were the ones who spear headed the school and really helped pull it together. It was great to meet all the new people and get to watch their children learn and progress. I highly recommend Alex's school to riders of all ages and skill levels. Yes, he teaches all ages and levels of riders. He would be happy to come and put on another school if we can get a minimum of 10 riders so everyone keep it in mind. If you think we can get commitments, we'll sure try to make it happen. I would like to see what Alex can do with a class of older, more experienced riders. The outcome would surely be fantastic. April 25th, 2009: Well I finally got the roller section rebuilt. It is now a rhythm section with jumps that are basically 4 to 5 footers. You'll have to check it out. I put in a half jump right in the corner so you can double/double/double from the inside or triple/double from the outside. I ended up spacing the jumps at about 30 feet instead of the previous 25 feet. Lonnie has done the section as doubles and thinks it is pretty fun. Can't get him to do the triple........yet! Worst part of all this is that the 4 wheel drive on the tractor is going out. Don't know how soon I can get that fixed so I won't be able to get some other major changes done for a while. A word to the wise.....if you intend to do a lot of dirt work like me, don't consider the under 70 horsepower Montana tractors. They don't seem to be able to stand up to heavy use. Mine only has 465 hours on it and I've done the clutch and now will have to do the 4 wheel drive. NOT GOOD!! April 11th, 2009: We had a great turn out today. I really want to say "Thank you!" to everyone who has been coming to ride. Attendance has been great and it sure is helping with the cost of the new clutch on the tractor. I should finally have it home on Monday (there have been a few delays) so if the weather is good, I'll try to get started redoing some more things on the track. WE WILL BE OPEN TOMORROW, THE 12TH IF ANYONE WANTS TO RIDE. WE HAVE A 50% CHANCE OF AFTERNOON RAIN BUT YOU KNOW HOW THAT GOES. I did put some water on the MX track this afternoon. This evening I worked up the MX track and the SX track. Both tracks worked up really nice. If it rains, both tracks will be great when they start drying out. If it doesn't rain, I'll put some more water down. Please give me a call if you plan on riding Sunday. Thanks! April 3rd, 2009: Razor's
Edge MX is proud to announce that Alex Manga will be holding an MX March 31st, 2009: I want to thank everybody who came out on Sunday. It was nice to see so many riders. In new news, I am making two changes. I have decided that the fee schedule has to be updated. Not a major change but the daily ride fee will still be $10.00 per rider only we are now going to be charging that to everyone 8 YEARS OLD AND OLDER. Children 7 years old and younger will be $5.00 per rider. I regret the need for this change but I have to keep in mind what our costs are to maintain and update the track. I realize the little bikes don't do as much damage to the track as the big bikes but every wheel impacts it and I think this is a fair compromise. Now the major change, we are no longer going to allow quads to ride at the track except for special arrangements made in advance. The cost of maintaining the track after quads are on it is too great. If quad riders can put together a group of 10 riders or more, I'll have a special quad only practice as long as arrangements are made in advance. Thank you for your understanding on this matter. March 21st, 2009: The step-up is now redone. Looks cooler but still pretty easy. Added quite a bit of height and some length. My clutch in the tractor is about shelled so may not get much else done for a while. Had great help from Riley Christie with his Bobcat. Thanks, Riley. Still have a lot of things planned for both tracks. Just now will depend on getting the clutch fixed. What's a few thousand more dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So hey, please come out and ride, I have to pay for the repair some how. I also want to thank everyone that has been out/down to ride this spring. It is nice seeing people from all over the midwest especially those of you who have come down in the spring on a regular basis. I wish you all the best this year with your racing and lives! February 6th, 2009: I forgot to mention in yesterday's update that I did some work to the track last fall before it froze up. Didn't get everything done I wanted to but made some good headway. The double double section is now redone with good drainage (read that "giant holes to catch water") which should help throughout the year. All the dirt from the holes went into the double landings so they are still short enough to be safe but the landers are much longer so you can jump about as far as you want. The other major rebuild was the triple. Same as the doubles. Used most of the dirt to remake the section. It is now an actual triple with a much bigger lander. Also had enough dirt left to make a fun single coming out of the big off camber left hand sweeper after the rythm section. If we can get rid of the deep frost, I will try to get a few more sections rebuilt and some other updates put in place. 6/29/08: I want to let everyone know that we had the Cody Gilmore MX School at Razor's Edge today and it was fantastic. Cody did an excellent job and all of the participants learned a lot, had a great time, and got completely worn out. We want to say a big Thank You to Cody for all of his hard work. Everyone should try to attend one of his schools or get a private lesson from him. His training and knowledge are worth every penny. If you want more info on Cody or his school go to www.codygilmore.com . One other item for the new info section. I have mellowed out the Supercross track in an effort to allow novice and young riders a safer area to learn on. I have noticed over time that very few riders who come to our facility really spend much time on the Supercross track. A few of the parents of younger kids also have been asking for a bigger, safer place for the kids to ride rather than the pee-wee track or out on the MX track. Thus, that is what I have done. There are still a few challenges left and I'll continue to make it good for all ages and skills but I think what exists now and the further changes I make in the future will be in everyone's best interest.
